Frequently asked questions
-
The easiest was to schedule is through our online patient portal.
However, if you can’t find a time that works well for you (or you would just prefer to talk to an actual person), please feel free to call or text us at (402) 972-8382.
-
To ensure that we can dedicate the time and attention needed to give the highest-quality care to each patient that enters our office, we do ask that you schedule an appointment.
-
Wear loose-fitting clothing that allows us to access the area of your complaint. For example, if you have knee pain, please wear shorts. If you have an elbow complaint, please wear short sleeves or a tank top.
-
New patient exams typically take about an hour. In that time, we will perform a thorough movement assessment along with any indicated physical, neurologic, and orthopedic examinations. In most cases, chiropractic treatment can begin on the same day once the examination is performed.
-
Chiropractic appointments are typically scheduled for 20 minutes per visit. Your entire appointment will be spent with the chiropractor.
-
We do not take x-rays in our office. We assess your movement and perform a thorough exam, and use this information to inform decisions about your care. In many cases, taking x-rays does not provide us with any additional information that would change the way we care for our patients. We firmly believe that if imaging isn't going to affect our treatment plan, then it is not worth your time or money.
In most cases, x-rays are not needed to determine what is causing your pain. However, if we do suspect that imaging will play a role in choosing the right treatment for you (such as in treatment following a car accident or major injury), we will send you to an imaging center prior to continuing care.
-
This varies from person to person, and there is no way to know without completing a thorough examination. This is why we do not ask patients to commit to a long care plan upfront, and rather use your response to a short trial of chiropractic care (when appropriate) to inform the type and duration of care that may be needed to help you reach your goals.
-
If something comes up and you are no longer able to make it to your scheduled appointment, please either reschedule your appointment online in our patient portal, or you can call or text our office if your would prefer.
We ask that you provide us with 24-hours notice for appointment changes whenever possible.
-
Yes! We adjust our techniques and services for each patient to ensure that treatment is appropriately gentle and comfortable for all patients, whether they are a 300-pound football player, 3 months pregnant, or a 3-day-old infant.
-
Pain is just a symptom telling your brain that something in your body isn’t working quite right. Getting chiropractic care before you notice pain can be a great way to address movement patterns that develop into pain over time (before you every have to experience pain or discomfort!), so even if you don’t have pain, you can still benefit from chiropractic care!
